There is established and created a fund to be known as the “Local Capital Improvement Fund”. Said fund shall contain any moneys required by law to be deposited in the fund and shall be held separate and apart from all other moneys, funds and accounts. Any balance remaining in said fund at the end of any fiscal year shall be carried forward in said fund for the fiscal year next succeeding. The resources of such fund shall be expended for the purpose of issuing grants to municipalities to reimburse or pay for the cost of eligible local capital improvement projects pursuant to section 7-536.

  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • succeeding: when used by way of reference to any section or sections, mean the section or sections next preceding, next following or next succeeding, unless some other section is expressly designated in such reference. See Connecticut General Statutes 1-1
