Notwithstanding any provision of the general statutes or any public or special act, charter or ordinance, the Commissioner of Transportation, or the chief executive officer of the municipality in the case of a municipal project, shall, on and after October 1, 2020:
Terms Used In Connecticut General Statutes 13a-97d
- Commissioner: means the Commissioner of Transportation and includes each successor in office or authority. See Connecticut General Statutes 13a-1
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Highway: includes streets and roads. See Connecticut General Statutes 13a-1
- Ordinance: means an enactment under the provisions of section 7-157. See Connecticut General Statutes 1-1
(1) Require each bid requested for a project to pave, repave or repair a highway that is financed in whole or in part with state funds to include a provision that all sewer grates and utility service grates in such highway be made reasonably flush with the surface of such highway on completion of the project; and
(2) Require each contract entered into as a result of such request for bids to include such a provision.
