This chapter may be cited as the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act.
Terms Used In Connecticut General Statutes 46b-115
- Child: means an individual who has not attained eighteen years of age. See Connecticut General Statutes 46b-115a
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
