Terms Used In Wisconsin Statutes 103.31
- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
- Minor: means a person who has not attained the age of 18 years, except that for purposes of investigating or prosecuting a person who is alleged to have violated a state or federal criminal law or any civil law or municipal ordinance, "minor" does not include a person who has attained the age of 17 years. Any parent or guardian who permits a minor under his or her control to be employed in violation of ss. 103.21 to 103.31 or of any order of the department issued thereunder may be required to forfeit not less than $10 nor more than $250 for each day of the first offense and, for the 2nd or subsequent violation of ss. 103.21 to 103.31 within 5 years, as measured from the dates the violations initially occurred, may be required to forfeit not less than $25 nor more than $1,000 for each day of the 2nd or subsequent offense.
