Terms Used In Wisconsin Statutes 877.17
- Attachment: A procedure by which a person's property is seized to pay judgments levied by the court.
- Decedent: A deceased person.
- Personal representative: means a person, however denominated, who is authorized to administer a decedent's estate. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01
No attachment or execution may be issued against the estate of the decedent or the personal representative until the expiration of the time limited for the payment of debts, except as provided in ss. 811.25 and 815.14.
