Terms Used In Wisconsin Statutes 64.13

  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • State: when applied to states of the United States, includes the District of Columbia, the commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the several territories organized by Congress. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01
   (1)    If at the beginning of the term of office of the first council elected under ss. 64.01 to 64.15 the appropriations for the expenditures of the city government for the current fiscal year have been made, the council shall have power by ordinance to revise, repeal, or change such appropriations and to make additional appropriations.
   (2)   Any city work done under the direction of commissions appointed by the state shall continue to be done in the manner prescribed by law prior to the reorganization of such city under ss. 64.01 to 64.15.
