The county auditor of each county of the first class not having a charter form of government and of each county of the second class, before he enters on the duties of his office, shall enter into bond, payable to the county, in the sum of ten thousand dollars, to be approved by the county commission, conditioned that he will faithfully perform the duties of his office and deliver to his successor, safe and undefaced, all books, records, papers, and furniture belonging to his office; which bond shall be recorded in the recorder’s office of the county and then deposited and safely kept in the office of the clerk of the county commission.
