- State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020
No governor shall be appointed by any board or commission of state government to any administrative position which such board or commission has the authority to fill, during that governor’s term of office, within two years of his leaving his elective office, and as long as a majority of the members serving on such board or commission were appointed by that governor.
