Terms Used In Missouri Laws 189.025
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
- State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020
The director shall promptly propose such allocations in the statements which he shall determine to be reasonably necessary to conform to the provisions of sections 189.010 to 189.085 and which are within the limits of the budget recommendations. He shall, thereupon, determine the local public hospital tax effort for patient care for the fiscal year. He shall report this amount to the state board of health and senior services and the chief fiscal officers of the city, county, corporation, or district, accompanied by the proposed allocations.
