Terms Used In Missouri Laws 210.551

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.

The children’s division shall, by January 1, 1988, develop a procedure by which foster parents may appeal adverse decisions affecting their rights made by the division. Such procedure shall be mutually agreed upon by the division and an organization of foster parents with whom they shall consult.
