Terms Used In Missouri Laws 257.440
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Person: person, firm, copartnership, association or corporation. See Missouri Laws 257.020
- Public corporation: counties, townships, cities, towns, villages, all special districts, and all other governmental agencies. See Missouri Laws 257.020
The performance of all duties prescribed in this chapter concerning the organization, administration and operation of the district may be enforced against any officer or against any person or public corporation refusing to comply with any order of the board by mandamus at the instance of the board of trustees or of any person or public corporation interested in any way in such district or proposed district.
