Terms Used In Missouri Laws 476.537

- Remainder: An interest in property that takes effect in the future at a specified time or after the occurrence of some event, such as the death of a life tenant.
In the event that any judge leaving no surviving spouse or any surviving spouse receiving benefits under section 476.535 as a beneficiary dies leaving dependents who are unable to care for or support themselves because of any intellectual disability or developmental disability, disease or disability, or any physical disability, the benefits that would be received by a surviving spouse on the judge’s death if there were a surviving spouse or the benefits received by such surviving spouse, as the case may be, shall be paid to such surviving dependent for the remainder of such dependent’s life. If the judge or such surviving spouse leaves more than one dependent who would be eligible for benefits under this section, then each eligible dependent shall receive a pro rata share of the amount that would be paid to a surviving spouse under section 476.535.
