Terms Used In Missouri Laws 506.120
- person: may extend and be applied to bodies politic and corporate, and to partnerships and other unincorporated associations. See Missouri Laws 1.020
- Plaintiff: The person who files the complaint in a civil lawsuit.
- Summons: Another word for subpoena used by the criminal justice system.
Upon the filing of the petition, the clerk shall forthwith issue the required summons or other process, and except as otherwise provided herein deliver it for service to the sheriff or to a person specially appointed to serve it. Upon request of the plaintiff, separate or additional summons shall issue against any defendants, including alias and pluries summons.
