Massachusetts General Laws ch. 19A sec. 24 – Reports
Section 24. Within one hundred and twenty days following the end of each fiscal year, the department shall submit a report to the governor, the general court and the public which shall include a description of the activities of the department and all designated agencies pursuant to sections fourteen to 26, inclusive, during the preceding fiscal year. Said report shall contain statistical information about the number and types of reports received under section fifteen; the results of the assessments and evaluations conducted and the amount, type and costs of services provided under section eighteen; and information on the quality of services provided and the results of such services in terms of alleviating abuse. Said report shall identify problems that may arise in the implementation of this chapter and shall contain the recommendations of the department for action on the part of the legislature.

- Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
