Section 3. Any corporation organized under chapter 156D may elect to be governed as an employee cooperative under this chapter, by so stating in its articles of organization or articles of amendment filed in accordance with chapter 156B.

  • Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.

A corporation so electing shall be governed by all provisions of said chapter one hundred and fifty-six B other than sections seventy-eight to eighty-five, inclusive, except as otherwise provided in this chapter.
