Terms Used In Utah Code > Title 53 > Chapter 2b > Part 1 - General Provisions
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Emergency: means :(3)(a) a natural or man-made disaster, a riot, a civil disturbance, violence, criminal activity, a fire, a flood, or extreme weather;(3)(b) an injury, illness, or other medical condition that requires an expedited response; or(3)(c) a circumstance that presents an imminent threat to life, property, or the public health, safety, or welfare. - Emergency services: means services provided by a public entity in response to an emergency. See Utah Code 53-2b-102
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Law enforcement officer: means the same as that term is defined in Section
53-13-103 . See Utah Code 53-1-102- Local emergency response agreement: means an agreement described in Subsection
53-2b-202(2)(a) that is:(7)(a) between a political subdivision in Utah and a political subdivision in another state, providing for the provision of emergency services to, or the receipt of emergency services from, each other; and(7)(b) entered into under the provisions of this chapter. See Utah Code 53-2b-102- Person: means :
(24)(a) an individual;(24)(b) an association;(24)(c) an institution;(24)(d) a corporation;(24)(e) a company;(24)(f) a trust;(24)(g) a limited liability company;(24)(h) a partnership;(24)(i) a political subdivision;(24)(j) a government office, department, division, bureau, or other body of government; and(24)(k) any other organization or entity. - State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
