- Agency: means a board, commission, institution, department, division, officer, council, office, committee, bureau, or other administrative unit of the state, including the agency head, agency employees, or other persons acting on behalf of or under the authority of the agency head, the Legislature, the courts, or the governor, but does not mean a political subdivision of the state, or any administrative unit of a political subdivision of the state. See Utah Code 63A-1-103
- Center: means the Utah Geospatial Resource Center created in Section 63A-16-505. See Utah Code 63A-16-501
- Chief information officer: means the chief information officer appointed under Section 63A-16-201. See Utah Code 63A-16-102
- Database: means the State Geographic Information Database created in Section 63A-16-506. See Utah Code 63A-16-501
- Department: means the Department of Government Operations. See Utah Code 63A-1-103
- Division: means the Division of Technology Services. See Utah Code 63A-16-102
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- GIS: means a computer driven data integration and map production system that interrelates disparate layers of data to specific geographic locations. See Utah Code 63A-16-501
- Highway: includes :(15)(a) a public bridge;(15)(b) a county way;(15)(c) a county road;(15)(d) a common road; and(15)(e) a state road. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- Information technology: means all computerized and auxiliary automated information handling, including:
(8)(a) systems design and analysis;(8)(b) acquisition, storage, and conversion of data;(8)(c) computer programming;(8)(d) information storage and retrieval;(8)(e) voice, video, and data communications;(8)(f) requisite systems controls;(8)(g) simulation; and(8)(h) all related interactions between people and machines. (18)(a) land;(18)(b) a tenement;(18)(c) a hereditament;(18)(d) a water right;(18)(e) a possessory right; and(18)(f) a claim. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5- network: means the network created in Section 63A-16-508. See Utah Code 63A-16-501
- Process: means a writ or summons issued in the course of a judicial proceeding. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- Property: includes both real and personal property. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- Quorum: The number of legislators that must be present to do business.
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- State Geographic Information Database: means the database created in Section 63A-16-506. See Utah Code 63A-16-501
- United States: includes each state, district, and territory of the United States of America. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
