- Person: means :(24)(a) an individual;(24)(b) an association;(24)(c) an institution;(24)(d) a corporation;(24)(e) a company;(24)(f) a trust;(24)(g) a limited liability company;(24)(h) a partnership;(24)(i) a political subdivision;(24)(j) a government office, department, division, bureau, or other body of government; and(24)(k) any other organization or entity. Punishment for a contempt, specified in Section 34-19-9, may be by fine, not exceeding $100, or by imprisonment not exceeding 15 days in the jail of the county where the court is sitting, or both, in the discretion of the court. Where a person is committed to jail for the nonpayment of such a fine, the person shall be discharged at the expiration of 15 days; but if the person is also committed for a definite time, the 15 days shall be computed from the expiration of the definite time.
