(1) A person shall compute the period of time provided by law to perform an act by:

Terms Used In Utah Code 68-3-7

  • Person: means :
         (24)(a) an individual;
         (24)(b) an association;
         (24)(c) an institution;
         (24)(d) a corporation;
         (24)(e) a company;
         (24)(f) a trust;
         (24)(g) a limited liability company;
         (24)(h) a partnership;
         (24)(i) a political subdivision;
         (24)(j) a government office, department, division, bureau, or other body of government; and
         (24)(k) any other organization or entity. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
     (1)(a) excluding the first day; and
     (1)(b) except as provided in Subsection (2), including the last day.
(2) If the last day is a legal holiday, a Saturday, or a Sunday, then a person shall:

     (2)(a) exclude the day described in this Subsection (2) from the time computation described in Subsection (1); and
     (2)(b) compute the period of time to include the end of the next day that is not a legal holiday, a Saturday, or a Sunday.
