(1) The department shall be responsible for the administration and operation of state veterans nursing homes established by the Legislature, which may include contracting with a private health care provider to operate and manage each home.
Terms Used In Utah Code 71A-6-102
- Department: means the Department of Veterans and Military Affairs. See Utah Code 71A-1-101
- Home: means any state veterans nursing home. See Utah Code 71A-6-101
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(2) Each home shall:
(2)(a) have at least an 80-bed capacity;
(2)(b) be designed and constructed consistent with the requirements for federal funding under 38 U.S.C. § 8131 et seq.; and
(2)(c) be operated consistent with the requirements for per diem payments from the VA under 38 U.S.C. § 1741 et seq.
