(1) There is created within the department the State Library Division under the administration and general supervision of the executive director or the designee of the executive director.

- Board: means the State Library Board created in Section

- Division: means the State Library Division. See Utah Code 9-7-101
- Executive director: means the executive director of the Department of Cultural and Community Engagement. See Utah Code 9-1-102
- Legislative staff office: means the Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel. See Utah Code 9-7-101
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(2) The division shall be under the policy direction of the board.

(3)(a) The division shall function as the library authority for:
(3)(a)(i) general library services;
(3)(a)(ii) mobile library services;
(3)(a)(iii) providing for permanent public access to state publications; and
(3)(a)(iv) other services considered proper for a state library.
(3)(b) The division is responsible for providing access to legislative publications, as provided in this part, that the legislative staff office deposits with the division.
