Terms Used In Utah Code 17B-2a-826
- Large public transit district: means a public transit district that provides public transit to an area that includes:(11)(a) more than 65% of the population of the state based on the most recent official census or census estimate of the United States Census Bureau; and(11)(b) two or more counties. See Utah Code 17B-2a-802
- Public transit: means regular, continuing, shared-ride, surface transportation services that are open to the general public or open to a segment of the general public defined by age, disability, or low income. See Utah Code 17B-2a-802
- Public transit district: means a special district that provides public transit services. See Utah Code 17B-2a-802
(1)(a) The board of trustees of a large public transit district shall create and employ an office of constituent services.(1)(b) The duties of the office of constituent services described in Subsection (1)(a) shall include:(1)(b)(i) establishing a central call number to hear and respond to complaints, requests, comments, concerns, and other communications from customers and citizens within the district;(1)(b)(ii) keeping a log of the complaints, comments, concerns, and other communications from customers and citizens within the district; and(1)(b)(iii) reporting complaints, comments, concerns, and other communications to management and to the local advisory council created in Section 17B-2a-808.2.

(2)(a) A large public transit district shall create and employ an office of coordinated mobility.
(2)(b) The duties of the office of coordinated mobility shall include:
(2)(b)(i) establishing a central call number to facilitate human services transportation;
(2)(b)(ii) coordinating all human services transportation needs within the public transit district;
(2)(b)(iii) receiving requests and other communications regarding human services transportation;
(2)(b)(iv) receiving requests and other communications regarding vans, buses, and other vehicles available for use from the public transit district to maximize the utility of and investment in those vehicles; and
(2)(b)(v) supporting local efforts and applications for additional funding.
