(1) The commissioner has administrative jurisdiction over each division.
Terms Used In Utah Code 34A-1-203
- Commission: means the Labor Commission created in Section 34A-1-103. See Utah Code 34A-1-102
- Commissioner: means the commissioner of the commission appointed under Section 34A-1-201. See Utah Code 34A-1-102
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
(2) To effectuate greater efficiency and economy in the operations of the commission, the commissioner may:
(2)(a) make changes in personnel and service functions in the divisions under the commissioner’s administrative jurisdiction; and
(2)(b) authorize designees to perform appropriate responsibilities.
(3) To facilitate management of the commission, the commissioner may establish offices necessary to implement this title or to perform functions such as budgeting, planning, data processing, and personnel administration.
