(1) License plates and the required letters and numerals on them, except the registration decal and the slogan, shall be of sufficient size to be plainly readable from a distance of 100 feet during daylight.

Terms Used In Utah Code 41-1a-403 v2

  • Registration: means a document issued by a jurisdiction that allows operation of a vehicle or vessel on the highways or waters of this state for the time period for which the registration is valid and that is evidence of compliance with the registration requirements of the jurisdiction. See Utah Code 41-1a-102
  • Registration decal: means the decal issued by the division that is evidence of compliance with the division's registration requirements. See Utah Code 41-1a-102
(2) An individual may not attach to or over a license plate:

     (2)(a) a license plate cover; or
     (2)(b) a license plate frame that obscures or blocks the readability of the license plate number or registration decal on a license plate.
(3) A violation of this section is an infraction.
