Except as provided in Subsection 41-1a-401(1)(c), if a person who has been issued personalized license plates sells, trades, or otherwise releases ownership of the vehicle for which the personalized license plates have been issued, that person shall immediately:

(1) apply to display the license plates on a different vehicle owned by the person; or

Terms Used In Utah Code 41-1a-413

  • Division: means the Motor Vehicle Division of the commission, created in Section 41-1a-106. See Utah Code 41-1a-102
  • Person: means :
         (24)(a) an individual;
         (24)(b) an association;
         (24)(c) an institution;
         (24)(d) a corporation;
         (24)(e) a company;
         (24)(f) a trust;
         (24)(g) a limited liability company;
         (24)(h) a partnership;
         (24)(i) a political subdivision;
         (24)(j) a government office, department, division, bureau, or other body of government; and
         (24)(k) any other organization or entity. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
  • Vehicle: includes a motor vehicle, trailer, semitrailer, off-highway vehicle, camper, park model recreational vehicle, manufactured home, and mobile home. See Utah Code 41-1a-102
(2) surrender the license plates to the division and release his priority to the letters and numbers displayed on the personalized license plates.
