(1) There is created within the department the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.

- Bureau: means the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services created in Section
53-2d-102 . See Utah Code 53-2d-101 - Department: means the Department of Public Safety created in Section
53-1-103 . See Utah Code 53-1-102 - Emergency medical services: means :(15)(a) medical services;(15)(b) transportation services;(15)(c) behavioral emergency services; or(15)(d) any combination of the services described in Subsections (15)(a) through (c). See Utah Code 53-2d-101
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(2) The bureau shall be administered by a bureau chief appointed by the commissioner.(3) The bureau chief shall be experienced in administration and possess additional qualifications as determined by the commissioner and as provided by law.(4) The bureau chief acts under the supervision and control of the commissioner and may be removed from the position at the will of the commissioner.(5) The bureau chief shall receive compensation as provided by Title 63A, Chapter 17, Utah State Personnel Management Act.
