Terms Used In Utah Code 53-3-215

  • Division: means the Driver License Division of the department created in Section 53-3-103. See Utah Code 53-3-102
  • License: means the privilege to drive a motor vehicle. See Utah Code 53-3-102
  • License certificate: means the evidence of the privilege issued under this chapter to drive a motor vehicle. See Utah Code 53-3-102
  • Person: means :
         (24)(a) an individual;
         (24)(b) an association;
         (24)(c) an institution;
         (24)(d) a corporation;
         (24)(e) a company;
         (24)(f) a trust;
         (24)(g) a limited liability company;
         (24)(h) a partnership;
         (24)(i) a political subdivision;
         (24)(j) a government office, department, division, bureau, or other body of government; and
         (24)(k) any other organization or entity. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
     (1)(a) If a license certificate issued under this chapter is lost, stolen, or destroyed, the person to whom the license certificate was issued may obtain a duplicate upon furnishing proof satisfactory to the division that the license certificate has been lost, stolen, or destroyed and upon payment of a duplicate fee under Section 53-3-105.
     (1)(b) A person may not be issued a duplicate license certificate under this section unless the person complies with Subsection 53-3-204(2)(f).
(2) When the division is advised that a license certificate has been lost, stolen, or destroyed, the license certificate is then void.
