(1) The department may:
Terms Used In Utah Code 72-10-202
- Aeronautics: means transportation by aircraft, air instruction, the operation, repair, or maintenance of aircraft, and the design, operation, repair, or maintenance of airports, or other air navigation facilities. See Utah Code 72-10-102
- Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
- Construction: means the construction, reconstruction, replacement, and improvement of the highways, including the acquisition of rights-of-way and material sites. See Utah Code 72-1-102
- Department: means the Department of Transportation created in Section 72-1-201. See Utah Code 72-1-102
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- United States: includes each state, district, and territory of the United States of America. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(1)(a) cooperate with counties and municipalities in developing and constructing airports;
(1)(b) make agreements on behalf of the state with any county or municipality regarding the financial participation, construction, and operation of any airports;
(1)(c) cooperate with the federal government in establishing airports; and
(1)(d) accept from the United States of America, money to be matched with the funds of the state and funds appropriated by any county or municipality in developing and constructing airports under the Uniform Airports Act.
(2) The department may expend not to exceed 10% of its annual appropriation from the Aeronautics Restricted Account upon any one project under this chapter.
