Terms Used In Utah Code 78B-20-301

  • Child: means :
         (3)(a) an unemancipated individual who has not attained 18 years old; or
         (3)(b) an adult son or daughter by birth or adoption, or under law of this state other than this chapter, who is the subject of a court order concerning custodial responsibility. See Utah Code 78B-20-102
  • Nonparent: means an individual other than a deploying parent or other parent. See Utah Code 78B-20-102

     In this part, “close and substantial relationship” means a relationship in which a significant bond exists between a child and a nonparent.
