(1) The “appropriate public authorities,” as used in Article III of the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children shall, with reference to this state, mean the division.

- Division: means the Division of Child and Family Services created in Section 80-2-201. See Utah Code 80-2-102
- State: means :(1)(a) a state of the United States;(1)(b) the District of Columbia;(1)(c) the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico;(1)(d) the Virgin Islands;(1)(e) Guam;(1)(f) the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands; or(1)(g) a territory or possession administered by the United States. See Utah Code 80-2-901(2) The division shall receive and act with reference to notices required by Article III of the compact.
