As used in this chapter:
(1) “Child” means an individual under 18 years old.

- Child: means an individual under 18 years old. See Utah Code 80-8-101
- Department: means the Department of Health and Human Services created in Section
26B-1-201 . See Utah Code 80-1-102 - Person: means :(24)(a) an individual;(24)(b) an association;(24)(c) an institution;(24)(d) a corporation;(24)(e) a company;(24)(f) a trust;(24)(g) a limited liability company;(24)(h) a partnership;(24)(i) a political subdivision;(24)(j) a government office, department, division, bureau, or other body of government; and(24)(k) any other organization or entity. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- Sex: means , in relation to an individual, the individual's biological sex, either male or female, at birth, according to distinct reproductive roles as manifested by:
(34)(a) sex and reproductive organ anatomy;(34)(b) chromosomal makeup; and(34)(c) endogenous hormone profiles. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- United States: includes each state, district, and territory of the United States of America. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- Youth services organization: means a sports league, athletic association, church or religious organization, scouting organization, or similar formally organized association, league, or organization, that provides recreational, educational, cultural, or social programs or activities to 25 or more children. See Utah Code 80-8-101
(2) “Registered sex offender check” means a search of:(2)(a) the state‘s Sex and Kidnap Offender Registry described in Title 77, Chapter 41, Sex and Kidnap Offender Registry; and(2)(b) the National Sex Offender Public Website administered by the United States Department of Justice.(3) “Sexual abuse” means the same as that term is defined in Section78B-2-308 .(4)(4)(a) “Youth services organization” means a sports league, athletic association, church or religious organization, scouting organization, or similar formally organized association, league, or organization, that provides recreational, educational, cultural, or social programs or activities to 25 or more children.(4)(b) “Youth services organization” does not include any person that is required to conduct a background check on employees or volunteers under any other provision of state or federal law.(5) “Youth worker” means an individual:(5)(a) who is 18 years old or older;(5)(b) who is employed by or volunteers with a youth services organization; and(5)(c) whose responsibilities as an employee or volunteer with the youth services organization give the individual regular and repeated care, supervision, guidance, or control of a child or children. - Sex: means , in relation to an individual, the individual's biological sex, either male or female, at birth, according to distinct reproductive roles as manifested by:
