- Remainder: An interest in property that takes effect in the future at a specified time or after the occurrence of some event, such as the death of a life tenant.
In elections by the general assembly in grand committee the person receiving a majority of the votes shall be elected. Every person elected by the general assembly to fill a vacancy, or pursuant to § 3 of this Article, shall hold office for the remainder of the term or for the full term, as the case may be, and until a successor is elected and qualified.
