Whenever any railroad corporation, the charter whereof requires the directors to make an annual report to the general assembly, shall have passed into the hands of trustees, the trustees, instead of the directors, shall make the report while the road remains in their hands, which report shall be approved by the division of public utilities and carriers, in like manner as if it had been made by the directors of the corporation.

Terms Used In Rhode Island General Laws 39-6-23
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Division: means the division of public utilities and carriers. See Rhode Island General Laws 39-1-2
- Railroad: means and includes every railroad other than a street railway, by whatsoever power, operated for public use in the conveyance in this state of persons or property for compensation, with all bridges, ferries, tunnels, switches, spurs, tracks, stations, wharves, and terminal facilities of every kind, used, operated, controlled, leased, or owned by or in connection with any railroad.
