Terms Used In Indiana Code > Title 12 > Article 21 - Division of Mental Health and Addiction

  • account: means the first responder crisis intervention account established under section 11. See Indiana Code 12-21-8-1.5
  • center: means a state identified center participating in the 9-8-8 suicide and crisis lifeline network to respond to statewide or regional 9-8-8 calls. See Indiana Code 12-21-8-1
  • commission: means the Indiana behavioral health commission established by section 2 of this chapter. See Indiana Code 12-21-7.1-1
  • council: refers to the division of mental health and addiction planning and advisory council established by this chapter. See Indiana Code 12-21-4-1
  • crisis receiving and stabilization services: means behavioral health services that provide short term, less than twenty-four (24) hour care with the capacity for diagnosis, initial management, observation, crisis stabilization, and follow-up referral services to a person in a homelike environment. See Indiana Code 12-21-8-2
  • fund: refers to the therapeutic psilocybin research fund established by section 4 of this chapter. See Indiana Code 12-21-9-1
  • Minority leader: See Floor Leaders
  • mobile crisis team: means behavioral health professionals and peers that provide professional onsite community based intervention, including de-escalation, stabilization, and treatment for individuals who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis. See Indiana Code 12-21-8-3
  • Oversight: Committee review of the activities of a Federal agency or program.
  • peer: means an individual employed on the basis of the individual's personally lived experience with mental illness or addiction and recovery and meets the requirements of peer certification established by the division. See Indiana Code 12-21-8-5
  • President pro tempore: A constitutionally recognized officer of the Senate who presides over the chamber in the absence of the Vice President. The President Pro Tempore (or, "president for a time") is elected by the Senate and is, by custom, the Senator of the majority party with the longest record of continuous service.
  • psilocybin: means a naturally occurring psychedelic prodrug compound that is produced by fungi, including members of the genus psilocybe. See Indiana Code 12-21-9-2
  • Quorum: The number of legislators that must be present to do business.
  • research institution: refers to an organization that meets all of the following:

  • veteran crisis line: means the veteran crisis line maintained by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. See Indiana Code 12-21-8-5.5
