Terms Used In Indiana Code > Title 25 > Article 30 > Chapter 2 - Regulation of Polygraph Examiners by State Police

  • Department: means the state police department established under IC 10-11-2-4. See Indiana Code 25-30-2-1
  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • Polygraph instrument: means a device that permanently and simultaneously records, at a minimum, an individual's cardiovascular and respiratory patterns and galvanic skin responses in order to determine truthfulness. See Indiana Code 25-30-2-1
