Terms Used In Indiana Code > Title 27 > Article 2 > Chapter 13 - Arson Reporting

  • Arson investigator: means an officer of a unit of local government whose duties include the investigation of arson. See Indiana Code 27-2-13-1
  • Attorney: includes a counselor or other person authorized to appear and represent a party in an action or special proceeding. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
  • Authorized agency: means :

  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • in writing: include printing, lithographing, or other mode of representing words and letters. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
  • Mortgagee: The person to whom property is mortgaged and who has loaned the money.
  • Property: includes personal and real property. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
  • Relevant: refers to information having any tendency to make the existence of any fact that is of consequence to the investigation or determination of a fire loss more probable or less probable than it would have been without the evidence. See Indiana Code 27-2-13-1
