Sec. 9.5. (a) This section applies to a candidate for governor who seeks election by filing:
(1) a petition of nomination under IC 3-8-6; or
(2) a declaration of intent to be a write-in candidate under IC 3-8-2-2.5.
(b) The petition or declaration must contain the name of a candidate for lieutenant governor to permit the candidates to comply with Article 5, § 4 of the Constitution of the State of Indiana by running jointly in the general election as candidates for governor and lieutenant governor.
