Indiana Code 3-8-1-22. County council member

Sec. 22. A candidate for membership on the county council of a county must:

(1) have resided in the county for at least one (1) year before the election, as provided in Article 6, § 4 of the Constitution of the State of Indiana; and

before the election: refers to a general, municipal, or special election. See Indiana Code 3-8-1-1.7
Year: means a calendar year, unless otherwise expressed. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5

(2) have resided in the district in which seeking election, if applicable, for at least six (6) months before the election.
