- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
Sec. 12. All performance or security bonds required of state officials or employees, except such bonds as are required of elected state officials and those under their jurisdiction, shall be approved, and the amount fixed by the commissioner wherein same is not fixed by law. The commissioner may require a bond and fix the amount of any officer or employee of the department or of any other officer or employee of this state when such may be needed to protect the interest of the state and where authorized by law.
