Sec. 22. A unit may use revenues from a tax imposed under this chapter for one (1) or more of the following purposes:
(2) To promote and encourage economic development within the unit.
(1) To promote and encourage conventions, visitors, and tourism within the unit.
Terms Used In Indiana Code 6-9-38-22
- bonds: has the meaning set forth in IC 5-1-11-1. See Indiana Code 6-9-38-4
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
- obligations: has the meaning set forth in IC 5-1-3-1(2). See Indiana Code 6-9-38-9
- unit: means :
Indiana Code 6-9-38-12
(3) Paying debt service or lease rentals on:
(A) bonds;
(B) leases;
(C) obligations; or
(D) any other evidence of indebtedness of the unit;
for a project described in subdivisions (1) and (2).
