  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
  • Property: includes personal and real property. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
     (b) This chapter does not create an element of value or damages not in existence before April 16, 1971, in any proceedings brought under the power of eminent domain.
