Sec. 4. If the commitment of an individual is transferred to another facility under section 1 of this chapter, the transferring facility shall give written notice to each of the following:

(1) The individual’s legal guardian.

Terms Used In Indiana Code 12-26-11-4

  • Attorney: includes a counselor or other person authorized to appear and represent a party in an action or special proceeding. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
(2) The individual’s parents.

(3) The individual’s spouse.

(4) The individual’s attorney, if any.
