Sec. 5. (a) A governing body in operating a curricular materials program under IC 20-26-5-4(a)(12) must supervise and control the program through the school corporation‘s curricular materials fund or education fund.

Terms Used In Indiana Code 20-41-2-5

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • minor: means a person less than eighteen (18) years of age. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
     (b) If the governing body determines that a hardship exists due to the inability of a student’s family or an emancipated minor to pay any required fees or a reasonable fee for lost or significantly damaged curricular materials, taking into consideration the income of the family or the emancipated minor and the demands on the family or emancipated minor, the governing body may waive the fee.
