Sec. 0.1. The following amendments to this chapter apply as follows:
(2) The amendments made to sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 of this chapter by P.L.135-2006 do not affect a legal proceeding or appeal initiated under this chapter before July 1, 2006.

- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
