Sec. 16.5. An optometrist who:
(2) meets the requirements of this chapter for certification to administer, dispense, or prescribe a legend drug; and
(1) holds a license under this article;
Terms Used In Indiana Code 25-24-3-16.5
- administer: means the direct application of a legend drug by an optometrist to a patient. See Indiana Code 25-24-3-2
- dispense: means to deliver a legend drug to an ultimate user by or pursuant to a lawful order of an optometrist. See Indiana Code 25-24-3-5
- legend drug: has the meaning set forth in IC 16-18-2-199. See Indiana Code 25-24-3-6
- optometrist: means an individual licensed as an optometrist under IC 25-24-1. See Indiana Code 25-24-3-7
(3) maintains a controlled substance registration under IC 35-48-3;
may prescribe Tramadol (Ultram).
