Sec. 2. (a) A county coroner must reside within the county as provided in Article 6, § 6 of the Constitution of the State of Indiana. The coroner forfeits office if the coroner ceases to be a resident of the county.

     (b) The term of office of the county coroner under Article 6, § 2 of the Constitution of the State of Indiana is four (4) years and continues until a successor is elected and qualified.
