Indiana Code 36-8-19-17. Member residency

Sec. 17. A firefighter who is a member of the fire department of a fire protection territory is not subject to residency requirements but must:

(1) have adequate means of transportation into the jurisdiction served by the member’s fire department; and

Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
territory: refers to a fire protection territory established under this chapter. See Indiana Code 36-8-19-4

(2) maintain telephone service to communicate with the member’s fire department.
