Sec. 9. (a) A children’s museum is not entitled to receive financial assistance under section 8 of this chapter until the governing body of the museum agrees with the board of school trustees, by proper resolution, to do the following:

(1) To allow the board of school trustees of a town furnishing financial assistance to the children’s museum to nominate individuals eligible for membership on the board of trustees or other governing body of the museum. The children’s museum must elect one (1) member from the list or lists of individuals nominated as a member of the board of trustees or other governing body of the children’s museum. The member elected under this subdivision represents all towns.

(2) To grant free admission to the children’s museum and galleries to all students and teachers of a town that furnishes financial assistance to the children’s museum.

(3) To allow the use, at reasonable times and in reasonable ways, of the plant, equipment, and facilities of the children’s museum to educate the students of the town.

(4) To allow the use of the services of the personnel of the children’s museum, at reasonable times and in reasonable ways, under the direction of the children’s museum, if the services are consistent with the regular established duties of the personnel.

(5) To allow the loan of suitable and available objects and items from the children’s museum’s collection to a school of the town to aid and supplement the curriculum of the school.

     (b) A copy of the resolution must be filed in the office of the secretary of the board of school trustees before the children’s museum receives financial assistance under this chapter.
