1.  Except as otherwise provided in subsection 2, the Department may collect and disseminate, throughout the State, information calculated to educate and benefit the general public and the livestock and agricultural industries of the State of Nevada, and information pertaining to any program administered by the Department.

Terms Used In Nevada Revised Statutes 561.285

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Department: means the State Department of Agriculture. See Nevada Revised Statutes 561.025
  • Livestock: means :

    (a) All cattle or animals of the bovine species. See Nevada Revised Statutes 561.025

  • person: means a natural person, any form of business or social organization and any other nongovernmental legal entity including, but not limited to, a corporation, partnership, association, trust or unincorporated organization. See Nevada Revised Statutes 0.039

2.  Except as otherwise provided in NRS 239.0115 and 571.160, all proprietary information concerning:

(a) Numbers of animals;

(b) The quantity of production;

(c) Fiscal or tax matters; or

(d) The security of any facility, which specifically relates to a natural person, company, corporation or other nonpublic entity, and which is collected by the Department pursuant to the provisions of titles 49 and 50 of NRS and chapters 581, 582, 583, 584, 586, 587, 588 and 590 of NRS, is confidential.
