Terms Used In Nevada Revised Statutes 628.415
- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
- Probation: A sentencing alternative to imprisonment in which the court releases convicted defendants under supervision as long as certain conditions are observed.
2. A decision of the hearing officer or panel relating to the imposition of a civil penalty, costs and attorney’s fees is a final decision in a contested case. Any party aggrieved by a decision of the officer or panel to place a certified public accountant on probation or revoke or suspend a certificate or permit may appeal that decision to the Board.
